Must-have cosmetics for a beautiful make-up look for any occasion!
There are so many make-up products to choose from that it can be overwhelming for beginners. Of course, you don't (and shouldn't!) need to stock up on make-up all at once. Professional make-up artists reach for some and use them for special occasions. For everyday or even occasional make-up that you want to do yourself, you really only need a little to achieve a sensational effect..
Cosmetic must haves when it comes to make-up for yourself are:
foundation - this is basically the most important cosmetic that should be in every make-up bag. Even the most beautiful eye make-up will not distract from uneven skin tone, redness and imperfections. Foundation is like Photoshop - it is supposed to remove them (figuratively speaking, of course). A well-chosen foundation should ideally match your natural skin tone and perfectly conceal imperfections;
concealer - an indispensable companion for foundation. With this cosmetic, you can camouflage more challenging imperfections, such as dark circles under the eyes, acne pimples or broken capillaries. Like foundation, it should be perfectly matched to your skin tone, as well as to the type of lesions you want to conceal (it's all about colour - green covers redness, for example);
eye shadow - it's the first thing that catches the eye! That's why we pay the most attention to the choice of this cosmetic. Eyeshadows are also the ones that are put to the test the most - after all, we move our eyelids all the time and often unconsciously touch our eyelids with our fingers, and this is a very difficult challenge for eye shadows!
mascara - eye make-up would be incomplete without careful mascara application. This cosmetic, like eye shadow, is also exposed to harsh conditions. Whatever the situation, it must be resistant to crumbling and smudging, which is why its quality is one of the most important factors in choosing it;
eyebrow styling cosmetic - eyebrows are the frame of the eye, just like the frame for a painting. Therefore, their styling is one of the most important issues that can even determine the effect of the entire make-up. Well emphasised eyebrows will "do the job" even with very modest make-up or even no make-up at all. All you need is concealer, mascara and eyebrow pencil/pencil/liner for a "wow" effect!
lipstick - not all of us like to wear colour on our lips - and you don't have to. However, it's always a good idea to accentuate them gently - even with a colourless gloss, or at least a simple care lipstick. Nothing ruins make-up more than dry, cracked lips!
powder - this is also a must-have cosmetic in your make-up bag. Many people associate it with a mask-like effect. However, this is due to inappropriate use - for example, using too much powder or choosing the wrong shade (too light or too dark, or too warm/cold). Powder isn't just meant to give your skin a matte finish - it can also illuminate it or give it a satin effect. It all depends on the effect you want to achieve! Above all, it is important to remember that powder "locks in" your make-up by setting it. Among other things, it acts as a protective layer against external influences such as humidity and abrasion!
You don't have to start with top-shelf cosmetics, but don't go to extremes and don't choose the cheapest cosmetics. In the latter case, a very low price often goes hand in hand with equally low quality, which contradicts all the features of good cosmetics listed above. At the beginning, "average" is enough - but it's worth finding out which brands and specific products have good opinions among users!
